Who Is Megan Fox?

Megan Fox is an accomplished actress and model, renowned for her roles in various film and television projects. After receiving modeling awards in her youth, Fox made a significant life decision by dropping out of high school and relocating to Los Angeles. Her career began with a role in the 2001 film Holiday in the Sun, featuring the Olsen twins. She gained widespread recognition alongside Shia LaBeouf in the blockbuster Transformers and has since starred in notable films such as Jennifer’s Body, Jonah Hex, This Is 40, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Fox is also a devoted mother to three children from her marriage to actor Brian Austin Green.

Early Life

Born on May 16, 1986, in Memphis, Tennessee, Fox exhibited an early passion for the performing arts. At the age of five, she began taking singing and dancing lessons, which continued when her family moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, at the age of ten. By age thirteen, she expanded her skill set with modeling classes. Fox’s dedication paid off in 1999 when she won multiple awards at the American Modeling and Talent Convention, prompting her decision to leave high school and pursue a career in Los Angeles at just sixteen.

Film and Television Roles

Holiday in the Sun and What I Like About You

In 2001, Fox secured her first significant role as a spoiled heiress in Holiday in the Sun, a film that garnered a cult following despite its direct-to-DVD release. Following this debut, she appeared in several guest roles on television, including a part in the Swedish soap opera Ocean Ave and a guest spot on the WB’s What I Like About You, starring Amanda Bynes.

Hope & Faith, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen

The year 2004 marked a turning point for Fox. She appeared in the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men and became a series regular on the WB sitcom The Help. Additionally, she played a prominent role in the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith, earning a Young Artists Award nomination for her performance. That same year, she was cast as Carla Santi in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, a film featuring Lindsay Lohan.

Transformers and Its Sequels

Fox achieved her major breakthrough in 2007 with her role as Mikaela Banes in Transformers, produced by Steven Spielberg. Her performance alongside Shia LaBeouf earned her an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Performance. During this period, she became a frequent subject in men’s magazines, earning the title of “Sexiest Woman Alive” by FHM in 2008, and was listed among Moviefone’s “25 Hottest Actors Under 25.”

In 2008, Fox appeared in How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, which performed well in the U.K. but had limited success in the U.S. She reprised her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009, which was again a box office hit. Although she was set to return for the third installment, she departed the project amid reported creative differences with director Michael Bay.

Jennifer’s Body, Jonah Hex, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Fox starred in the horror film Jennifer’s Body in 2009, which garnered moderate success. She then played Leila in the Western film Jonah Hex (2010) and had a supporting role in Judd Apatow’s This Is 40 (2012). Fox later portrayed April O’Neil in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) and its sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016).

New Girl and Zeroville

Transitioning to television, Fox played the recurring character Reagan Lucas in the fifth season of the popular sitcom New Girl (2016). In the following year, she returned to film with roles in Above the Shadows, Zeroville, and The Battle of Jangsari.

Personal Life

Fox’s personal life has often attracted media attention. She became engaged to actor Brian Austin Green in June 2010, having previously ended their engagement in 2009. Their relationship gained further headlines when Fox lost her two-carat diamond ring while on vacation in Hawaii; however, the couple ultimately wed there.

Fox and Green share three sons: Noah (born 2012), Bodhi (born 2014), and Journey (born 2016). After eleven years together, the couple announced their separation in August 2015, but reconciled in 2016. Reports of their second separation emerged in May 2020, after which Fox began a relationship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly, leading to their engagement in January 2021.
